I finished my essays about one this morning. I just got home from school and am packaging the whole thing up to take it to the post office. I've gone back and forth on my essays, and I still can't decide if any of them are good or just total crap. I guess we'll see! Anyway, I'm just glad to be done with this whole project. I want to get in so badly, but I'm trying to brace myself for rejection, so it won't be too hard to take. Anyway, good luck everyone!

Just mailed off my essays. It's officially out of my hands.

Mine are officially postmarked and gone. yay :)

Same here. Its gone with the wind :D
Now i can finally worry about other stuff....

and start on RSI!

mine's gone.

let's hope i get an interview.

I just want an interview lol.
Lets just hope I didn't make some silly types that I glanced over in my essays. Lets hope my rec letter is good. Let's hope I get an interview :)

I wonder what major cities they'll hold the interviews?
Hmm.

RSI is lame.

Yeah, but it looks killer on the resume :D
Plus, i think its pretty chill...

I just realized now that I put U of Washington instead of Washington University. Damn. And that was my first choice, haha.

They're going to think to themselves: She rushed this, when I really didn't. Aww. :( Now I'm super sad....

I really wanted to attend this program too...sniff

I almost did the same thing! But, I caught myself. Not my first choice, but it still wouldn't have been good. I'm sure they get that a lot, so don't fret! Simple typos aren't a measure of your infinite intelligence. :)

You have to mail it, even if you're applying online.

to bravos89: right on! Metrosexual guide to style. :) I know you posted that forever ago but I thought I'd throw in my two bits.

I finished mine today and rushed to the post office about ten minutes before they stopped postmarking. I love procrastination.

I really hope they don't just laugh at my essays. Maybe someone will like them. who knows?

just for the record, does geographic diversity play any real role in the selection process?

OK, apparently I mailed mine wrong. I printed it off the computer, so I didn't have any official application folder. What I did is fold the two non-essay pages of the application in half, making a sort of folder and then put everything inside. Plus I only paperclipped the two copies of the application, not the original. I know if I don't get in it probably won't be because of the way I sent in the application but I'm still sort of worried. I want everything to go as smoothly as possible.

It's out of my hands now, though. It feels good just to be done. I've been thinking about it more and I'm pretty convinced that I'm not going to be getting in, but I figure it's good practice for next year. Plus, I may be able to use some of the essays for school, so it wasn't a total waste of time. I'll be happy if I just get an interview.

Does Telluride send out rejection letters? Or will I just have to assume that I didn't get in if I don't hear from them.

alright; now for the million dollar question:

what kind of paperclips did everyone use?

i used 4 inch long ones, gold. a bit ostentatious, sure.

what font/ margins did you use?

i used trebuchet ms 10, 1 inch margins.

and did anyone print in anything other than black on anything other than white paper?

black ink on white paper (classic!)
standard normal ole regular paperclips (humble!)
century 11.5 font, normal margins (crisp!)

I've got this in the bag;)

normal paperclips are boring.

i know if i had to write essays, i'd want a cool paperclip to play with.

For me, black on white.
I think my papaer clips were about 4 inches long...I dunno
arial, 11pt font. Margins = 0.9

I just sent mine regular service...regular everything. I didn't really get the "get signature back" or "check status" thing, do you think it'll be ok? Just to make it extra special though I used the USP store instead of the postal office and sent it first class.

i don't know if UPS postmarks tho.

i was considering printing white on black. it would have been interesting.
