It might work out yet-- do you know for sure it's a no go? These announcements definitely don't seem uniform, for what it's worth.

Anyway, thank you! Hopefully it will go well. How sad is it that I'm really rather nervous already?

I haven't heard anything from them, but considering the quality of my essays (they were extremely rushed) I sincerely doubt I'll be selected. I have a research internship lined up that I'm really excited about, though, so it's not such a big deal.

My D just got her e-mail yesterday to set up an interview in a couple of weeks (Oregon), so I think they've just started contacting people. Hang in there, seems like there are several groups of interviewers. Good luck all!

Yeah, there are several regional interview committees. I think they are just starting to contact people.

I haven't gotten an e-mail or a phone call yet but I'm going to stay positive, hope for the best, and not jump to conclusions. Besides, I expect at least 50% of CC to make it to the interview round becuase we know exactly how great, unique, and prestigious TASP is. If I had never found CC, you can bet your money that I would have thrown that Telluride application/brochure I received in the mail out in the garbage since I'm not going to type up 6 essays for no possible huge benefit lol. Also, I am pretty sure that CC represents the high end of the TASP application pool but I could be wrong.

Keep and open mind you guys and good luck!!!:)

I think you're definitely right-- CC represents a very unusual portion of the population. It's so easy to walk away with a skewed perspective from here: so many people are so talented. It makes everything seem rather hopeless, sometimes, but for all the times that it does, it is also incredibly helpful. I wouldn't have even known about TASP had I not frequented the boards.

Ah! The results already! I spent what seems to be FOREVER on my essays, i'm just pleading for an interview....but we won't know until later, eh? i'm super nervous but like evilasiandictator, hoping for the best. crosses fingers

And kelsiface: you should post the email contents ;D for the rest of the waiting on the outcome of TASP.

oh! will the give you a letter if you don't make it?

i feel like theyll give ppl who dont make it a letter, but i feel like itd come out when people get their actual results (may-ish?) so that would take forevvvvverrrr

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

I want this so badly...I want this so badly...
Yes, I am whining.
I am soo nervous....
Who wants a TASP AIM chat to relieve nervousness?

I do!!! What's your AIM screenname???

Does anyone know form experience how people who don't get an interview are informed? Personally, I'm not expecting to get an interview, but it'd be nice to get some closure from a letter/e-mail, etc.

They will simply put a hit out on you.

Wait, what? character limt

Is it TASP that contacts you? Or is it the regional interviewers?

I don't think I made it...x_X

I got an interview! This is incredible. I'm still amazed.

omg congrats!

....still waiting here....aaarrrghhhhh.....

Thats so awesome! Congrats, congrats! But then again, your essay topics seemed amazing and you seemed to be an awesome writer so I'm not surprised :)

Did you get contacted via email or letter or phone call?

And oh! You should tell us what area, when the interview is, your social security number (haha, jk) etc.

:P

Wow. Now I'm getting quite sad...sniff and pessimistic!
I wish they would just notify EVERYONE already..aaaarrrgggg!

Congratulations!

To those still waiting for a verdict-- like I said earlier, I live rather close to Ithaca (it's an hour and fifteen drive tops). That said, I only got my letter in the mail today. Don't lose hope yet!

Man, reality is slowly starting to sink in.:( Past TASPers, do you guys have any idea how long the interview notification period lasted for TASP??? It seems that everyone has just started receiving phone calls and/or e-mails in the past 24 hours lol since this thread has simply exploded even though it appeared that no one had their decisions as recently as yesterday. It also seems that all the people that have been notified so far reside on the East Coast but I haven't heard of anyone west of DC being contacted so far. I dunno...I at least hope they send a rejection letter so I can at least have closure to this whole agonizing ordeal.

P.S.: I still find it hard to believe that only 3-4 CC users made it to the interview round since it would seem like making the top 180 out of a field of 1,000 shouldn't be too bad especially if you're knowledgeable about how important/awesome TASP is beforehand. GAHHHH...

Congratulations to everyone who got an interview!!! I am sooo jealous, and I am incredibly saddened that I haven't been contacted yet...:( But perhaps there is still hope...crosses fingers

(AIM Screenname: Koukris) <-- for anyone who wants to chat
