Am I the only one who hasn't been informed yet about an interview? I got the letter in the mail but no one has contacted me. Should I wait it out or should I call TASP office about this?

I'm waiting for my interviwer to contact me too. If it doesn't happen soon (by the end of the week??) I guess I'll call or email TASP.

By the way, have any international students (who don't live in the States) already been notified about their interview??

Yeah, no one's e-mailed me about my interview, either, which seems strange because I'm so close to several big cities.

I would just wait it out until maybe the beginning of April. As I recall from reading the thread from last year, some people didn't get their interview notification till early April. But if it'll put your mind to rest, by all means contact Telluride! :]

In response to chillaxin (#1140), I was definitely answering questions. Definitely, definitely answering questions.

Hey Kelsi, do you have an AIM sn by any chance???

Excuse me for butting in, but I was just wondering...
Does anybody have an interview with a guy named Afua Bruce in Denver this Saturday?

vegangirl might, since she's from Colorado. You'd have to ask her though.

Mr. E- we have the same interviewer! Is yours at Panera?

p.s.- afua is a woman. I googled the name. :)

Yes... 12:30 at Panera! We should compare notes afterwards or something.
A woman, huh? Eeep. I just realized I addressed all my emails to "Mr. Bruce."

LOL
I think you're going right after me (mine's at 10:30). A friend of mine has hers at 4:30. I'm guessing there's also someone at 2:30. It kind of scares me that she's interviewing so many people! It'll make it really easy for her to compare us all directly.

What'd you write your essays on?

Yes, I can't help but think she'll be a little burnt out after spending that much time interviewing.

For the question that asked you to write about "an issue of concern to you," I discussed trash at my school and how it related to respect. I suppose that might sound a little trite or fussy, but I was trying to do something different.

For the question where you had to analyze a conflict in your life, I talked about all poor communication issues I've had with photographers during my time on the staff of my school newspaper.

I wrote my literature review on a book called Fast Food Nation. I sort of analyzed its persuasive power, and compared it to other similar works.

What did you write about?

^ Fast Food Nation.. Kenny.. bad memories.

My interview is in an hour. I will give you details later. Please do not storm me with PMs, but I suppose I'll answer a couple questions on the thread if there are any.

^ Are you... Peter?

Good luck, wang! :]

wang- good luck! let us know how it goes.

Mr. E- my issue essay is on the ethics of veganism, my future plans one was about how To Kill a Mockingbird has influenced my interest in history/writing/social justice movements, my lit analysis was about a longish turkish poem, and my conflict was on maintaining historical integrity in a documentary i made (lamest one).

btw, on a totally unrelated note, did you guys get much snow out there? Denver didn't get too pelted, but it's been freezing! so much for spring...

DC got a tiny bit of snow.

Buena suerte, wang!
Vegangirl - Fort Collins didn't get much snow either. But it's cold here. I just got off of spring break, and... it wasn't especially springy.
