Tax return translation

Hi there,

I am an international student applying for need-based financial aid; am I required to have an official translating agency translate my tax returns or would the documents in the original language + regular translation do it? If necessary, I will officially translate them, but I'd rather avoid unnecessary spending on this.

I couldn't find any specific directions regarding this question on the universities' websites... By the way, I am applying to MIT, Harvard, Caltech, Stanford, Princeton and Yale. Has anyone had previous experiences with this?

Thanks!

I believe regular translations would be fine, but you should email the universities to be sure.

Bump, I am having the same problem! the tax return of my country is very complicated, and it seems no agency translates tax returns. Can I translate it and convert it to dollars?

Yes, you can. I did it and all the universities I applied to accept it (you can PM me if you want to know which).
