TAX statament on W-2

there is no place to enter the tax paid by my parents in 2007 on FAFSA form , am I wrong ?

FAFSA wants the final federal tax your parents incurred which will be from their tax return. The taxes on the W2 may represent and under or overpayment of the actual tax bill for the year. If they have not filed a return yet and you are estimating you can use the W2 figures, but will have to report the actual tax from the tax return before aid will be finalized.

You do not report state or FICA taxes from the W2. The EFC formula calculates an allowance for these based on information you enter on FAFSA.

Thanks for your reply.
