Hi,
I posted an answer to your question regarding my D. What is the status of your D's school visits? Any thought given to what she is going to do this summer?

I did an overview of any school that we visited which were: RIT, RISD, Carnegie Melon, and Syracuse. I will be visiting Pratt sometime next April or May and visiting Wash U St. Louis. We may also visit Univ of Cincinnati. We haven't decided if we want to visit Parsons or SVA in NY. I don't feel strongly about them nor does my daughter. We will also be visiting Towson University ( our local state university here in Maryland that has a strong visual arts department).

Did u post a review of Syracuse?

Hmm, It I'll check. Don't remember if I did or not. I certainly will after we get a formal tour. I was there for my daughter, who attended a pre-college program. Thus, I am not sure that any observation by me would be fair to them considering that it wasn't during the normal school year or part of their normal college program.

Taxguy, another school in your general vicinity that seems to have a strong visual arts program is Virginia Commonwealth. Some of their MFA programs are highly rated according to USNews.

I did visit VCU and was very underwhelmed. The area that the school was located was scary. They did, however, have friendly inhabitants that wanted to relieve me of "spare change." The art school seemed old and not well maintained. IN fact, nothing about the school, other than the courses offered, seemed remotely appealing.
