TCNJ Class of 2013

SAT: 1160/1770
GPA: 4.10
Rank: Top 4%
Extra Curriculars: fbla, deca, color guard, class officer, peer leadership, national honor society, national technical honor society, piano, work, community service
Scholarship Amount: $20,000 over 4 years

I was always told to take and Honors or an AP course and get a solid/high B because it shows you are able to handle a college level course which was why I opted for those courses instead of accelerated. Im not in the top 10% of my class but i go to a very good large school and im very close to the top 10%. I didnt apply to a specific school at TCNJ just the school in general because I applied undecided. Ive been accepted to other schools and Im sure ill be happy with them I just hoped to get in because being a part of a large family and having a twin brother, an older sister in her sophomore year of college, and a younger sister that will be in college in two years TCNJ's great price would have been helpful to my family.

My son had his interview for 7yr med admittance today. But to my knowledge hasn't been notified that he is accepted to TCNJ yet.

SAT: 1480/2220
GPA: 4.25
CR: 1/125

ECs Varsity soccer, varsity winter track, varsity track (captain of all 3), NHS, Amnesty International- has led/developed programs for group at school, lab band, volunteer tutoring, engineering club and probably other things I don't know about!

I imagine that he is in if they interviewed him today for that program. But I hope he can get good scholarship money if he does get in!

Wow, so if he doesn't get into the 7 year med program does he still want to go to TCNJ? Those are impressive stats

When do regular admissions get notified?

They're being notified now. The college notifies on a rolling basis, so you'll know once they reach a decision.

Got in about 2 weeks ago. Now I'm just waiting back from Georgetown, Villanova, George Washington, UVA, Tulane, and William and Mary! Anyone else apply to any of those? If so, acceptances???

I got in

I am also an applicant to the 7 year med program and had my first interview

Bicyclekick do you still plan on going to TCNJ if you don't get into the 7 year med program?

no i won't go considering rutgers offered me $21,600 a year...so i'd be crazy to turn that down for $6,500 a year at tcnj.....i'm also waiting to hear from other schools before i make a final decision...congrats to everyone who got in and is going though, i've visited and its a nice campus and i'm gonna have some friends going there too

music927:
your ec's and community service might have been what was missing. your stats are very impressive though. of course they might help you at another school. where else did you apply?

devinjhenry

I applied to william and mary and have not heard back yet...did you receive an email from them telling you that they received all of your application materials?

I also never received a username and password like the school told me I would...so now I have to wait for my decision until they send me a username and password or until I get my letter in the mail. (I'm going to go crazy)

tennischick09, i applied to both tcnj and w&m.. i'm not sure which school you were referring to? but i actually received my pin number and password for tcnj after i got my decision letter, so either it got lost in the mail or they sent it much later? and for w&m, i don't think you're able to check your application status online, so we can't do anything but wait for that one.. not sure if this helps at all, but hope it does.

i just emailed one of the counselors at TCNJ and they sent me my username and password so I am able to check my application status. Im pretty nervous about hearing back from W&M. I really want to go there. It's so beautiful and the professors are awesome. I just want to hear back from both schools.

hey has anyone received info containing Bonner Scholars I received a nomination form a few weeks ago and was wondering if anyone received this/has information on it.

Thanks

has anyone also received any info on the honors program? i got the letter to try out last week. Thanks

accepted
business school (finance major)
1500 / 2230 SAT
3.5 uw

He was accepted, but not for the 7 yr program (no interview at UMDNJ at this late date). He got 26K/4 yrs and then another 2K from his FAFSA (I think). He is considering TCNJ still, but is waiting to hear from some others.

Is anyone else thinking of doing the Honors Program? It looks alright but I don't think I'll do it unless it significantly helps me get into med school. I could also see it messing me up because I'd be "competing" with the other smarter students in the course.
