I'm having a very hard time deciding between TCNJ and Rutgers... I would be paying about the same amount of money (maybe a little less at TCNJ), and I want to eventually go to Med School..

Medical school? Then go to Rutgers, which is one of this country's major research universities.

I think TCNJ is a "hidden gem" and I would choose it over Rutgers.

Rutgers is a better bet for subsequently applying to med school...however, your child must be the type who is totally self sufficient and capable of working around the large bureaucracy.

TCNJ is probably the best school in NJ right now and has the small college feel and nurturing atmosphere lacking at Rutgers since it only has 5000 students vs 25,000 in New Brunswick. Is that a factor?

I dont mind the large atmosphere, but I am leaning more towards TCNJ for the individual attention in order to get a reccomendation for Med school. At Rutgers the classes will be bigger and being able to be close to profesors isnt as easy...
But I like Rutgers because of its affililation with UMDNJ and research opportunities...
so I am really stuck between these 2 colleges..........
