Hi guys. I'm currently a freshman at Susquehanna University, but I dislike it here so much that I am looking to transfer for the Spring 08' semester. I applied for transfer to TCNJ and Ramapo, but obviously TCNJ is my first choice. I'm really worried though because my stats are on the lower side of what The College of New Jersey accepts, but I have friends who are freshman there who are around my level. My grades are:

HS
-GPA: 3.6
-SATs: 620 Math / 580 CR / 650 Writing
-No AP or Honors (friends got in w/o any either)
-Varsity baseball and bowling for 3 years (bowling team captain 2 years)
-Community Service (Habitat for Humanity)
-Environmental Club and Math team member
-Good Work Experience (includes managerial work)
-Recommendation from my math teacher (and baseball coach/family friend) and my guidance counselor (bowling team coach)

College - Business/Marketing Major
-I'm a first semester freshman so I don't have a GPA yet
-Club: SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise)

(TCNJ Director of Transfer Admissions said they would pretty much only look at my HS stats)

My essay as to why I'm transferring was really good I personally believe, and I know my HS grades are better than some at TCNJ (although in the lower third) and I would just like to know what my chances are. Thanks!

You don't have to worry at all.. I think you stand more than an above average chance at getting accepted. I would be surprised if they didn't accept you...If your a business major why don't you consider better/more reputable programs like Rutgers or Penn State... i think you could you fall in there range.

ha I saw rejected and my heart stopped as if it was the letter from admissions. Your confidence is excellent really I've been so doubtful for so long. Part of my decision is based on baseball, which I'm looking to play at TCNJ (yes I know they're like 4th in the country but after my shoulder surgery I'll be good enough, I turned down a D1 scholarship to Iona last year). But thank you for the confidence I hope you know your stuff! Thanks again

Definitely send an application to Penn State University Park(the main campus). The rest are just branch campuses and you don't want to go to any of them. I think you would have a good shot and Smeal is very well respected.

Thanks I'll look in to that, maybe after I have shoulder surgery in December I'll be able to make the team.. Anyone else know about TCNJ? Decisions come in 2 weeks but I am losing sleep due to my anxiousness over this
