<p>You invite your teachers online through your common app account and enter their email addresses. As soon as you do that, they will get an email that invites them to submit a recommendation. The email tells them they have a choice of submitting the rec online (preferred) or by mail. Each teacher gets to individually make that decision. If they submit online, they do it themselves and you generally will not see the rec but you can see the status of the rec through your account which is nice. If they submit by mail, you need to help them by printing the forms and providing stamped addressed envelopes. In that case you generally cannot see the status of the rec through your account.</p>
