Hi! I'm planning on going into the medical field after college, so I want to study something science-related in college. Should I get recs from only math and science teachers or should I get one rec from math/science and another one from a humanities teacher?

my Calc teacher is also the sponsor for the Robotics club (i am co-founder and Treasurer) and he writes very meaningful letters of rec (students who got recs from him went to really awesome schools)

I'm super close with my AP chem teacher (11 grade) and my AP Lit teacher (10th grade English and 12th grade AP Lit). I want to get one from both of them, but I heard it's better to have two teacher recs than three. I heard my AP Lit teacher writes one of the best recs around and I'm not sure if my chem teacher would do it because he's kind of lazy haha. Does it look better if I have one math and one humanities because it is balanced or one math and one science? please and thank you!

Counselor recs are usually mandatory (especially at the more selective schools). As for the recs pick the two teachers that you think will write the best ones, if you can get a strong STEM one and a strong humanities one it will make you look more well-rounded…

Colleges are academic institutions and are seeking information about your potential as a scholar in the classroom. Ask teachers of academic subjects who know you well and can attest to your leadership abilities, writing, and critical thinking. Some colleges specifically ask for recommendations from one math/science teacher and one humanities/english teacher, so you need to check first with the colleges on your list to see what requirements they may have. You basically want your teacher recs to look like the “good” examples on MIT’s website: [Writing Recommendations | MIT Admissions](How to write good letters of recommendation | MIT Admissions)
