<p>It wasn't when I applied.</p>
<p>My high school college counselor recommended that to show "well-roundedness;" however, I don't believe that it is mandatory for Vassar. As long as you have two teachers writing for you, I don't think it matters much. That being said, you should make sure not to get two teachers from the exact same department (two math teachers, for example).</p>
