People on this board seem to know exactly what their recs said. I thought it was suppose to be confidential.
Do I need to "see" the teacher recs before they are sent? Would it be bad if I know nothing about their content? other than the fact that they are "good."

You definitely don't need to see them. I didn't see mine, nor did any of my friends see theirs. The most important thing is that you know they're good - by asking teachers that you know have a high opinion of you, or by asking outright whether they'd be willing to write you a positive recommendation.

It's good practice to waive your right to see the rec. It's also rude to ask to see it before it's sent, if the teacher hasn't offered to show you. Some will, some won't; it depends on the teacher and the way things are done at your school. But getting to see the rec is like a pleasant surprise - there's no need to worry if you haven't read it, as long as you know what it says is good.

Says who? It's the teachers letter, and its ultimately their decision what happens.

Thank you; my teachers agreed when I asked them. I chose the two teachers who I thought liked me (at least in my mind). I never ask if they would write me a "positive" recommendation, just a recommendation.

I should be fine right?
