teacher red formatting

So this question has been stuck on my mind for quite a bit, does anyone know what the actual formatting is for teacher recommendations?

Is there an actual form from the gateway/SAO they have to fill out? Or do they just type in a paragraph? Because at the moment, that’s just what teachers are doing.

It’s not my teachers’ fault, but my recs have to be processed through another office, and it’s really weird and stressful because i’m afraid they won’t upload my recs in the required format

Also, does the counsellor have to fill out a form as well? Or is a written paragraph fine?

If you search up “gateway recommendation form” and scroll down, you can see what the recommendation forms kind of resemble

@chipotlegirl123 i know the form, but do the teachers have to fill out that specific form?

Yes, teachers have to use the specific forms provided by Gateway/SAO (whichever platform you’re using to apply).

In the old days you used to hand teachers the paper recommendation form. Now most will send a link with the form to the people you list at the email provided. Many schools have a form with check boxes as well as narrative. As long as they follow the directions that are sent to them it will be fine.

Yikes-Our school forbids us from sending anything directly to teachers so I’m going to have to fix this problem asap!!

My children’s school had a similar policy. For all teacher recommendations we provided the same email address, that of the school administrator, who then accessed all forms and had them filled out by teachers and uploaded. Perhaps you can make a similar arrangement with your school.

Hopefully, though I get back to school on the 8th and Choate’s is due on the 10th so I’m super nervous
