It would be cool, if we could share info on our current teachers nd courses, incase someone else will be taking the same course next quarter:

Dont take: Solomon Math 20 C (you never know what he's thinking)
Sociology- Martin (you will go straight to sleep)

Take: Econ 1- Antanoviks (really nice and if you go to lecture, you dont have to read the book)
Chem 6A- Sawrey (almost like a high school teacher, she's very caring)

Solomon teaches math 20C too? Well i have him for math 20b. He's ok.. he teaches better at office hour. Well info on solomon doesn't matter since he's only here for a quarter.

I second the Antonoviks thing; I haven't gone to lecture since our last midterm, but everyone I know says that she's a good professor.

Don't take Shuichiro Takeda for any math classes; he's very spontaneous and usually skips some integral (no pun intended) steps while working out problems.

hmmm
mengi... something like that... for math 10 B..is horrible... he has an accent and you can understand and he writes everything on the board... but his tests and quizzes are ok.... so if you can self learn math i guess this would be the guy for you...

czwoksi... czokoiewerewahegauirojfrihds whatever his name is... for chem 6A... hes an ok teacher... he has notes pdf file online.. but i think his tests are kinda hard... but her has ec up to 50 points with the clickers...

weeks.. for hild 2a.... =/ i dont like this teacher... his lectures are useful... alomost daily homework...and your grade is based on papers not tests... and the papers are using primary sources to explain history... but its very hard =/.... but yeah... its retarded because you have to go to class to turn in your homework but you really cant leave for the retarded lecture because he hates it when people leave during the middle of class and like points you out when you start walking up the stairs... and the discussions are mandatory...

=/
i dont like any of my classes this quarter.. it sucks =(

hahah...i like weeks! the lectures are so-so and...mandatory...but i like that we have only papers and not tests. how did you do on your first paper?

math 20c- popescu- his midterm is similar to the practice one he posts online
chem 6b- johnson- good lecturer, she wants you to get a good grade. you can drop a midterm and you get extra credit for using your clicker.

Math 20B - Mohanty : Thumb DOWN. Oh GAWD, she is teh boringest math teacher I've ever had. If I go to class, I fall asleep; I've been skipping a lot of her classes.
I think I may just switch to the 10 series for C. Not worth taking the 20s when I don't even have to and it's only ever so slightly KICKING MY ASS. (Well, might help if I go to lecture and I pay attention when I do my homework but...) I have never been bored by math before; if anything, I was a math nerd before. But Mohanty makes me drop all interest in math.

Chem 6A - Johnson : Thumb UP. I love her. <3 I will definitely be taking her next quarter for chem 6B. Even if she's a MWF, and I wanted TuTh classes.

PHIL 13 - Talbert : Thumb up?. He's pretty cool. Wish I went to lecture more often, but 10 am on some morning are a pain. He's very knowledgable what he's teaching and he's very "philosophical." haha.

JAPN 10A - Fu-ku-shima : Thumb... sideways. She's cute, she's ok, but I heard Nikishima (was that the name? whatever started with N) is better. Will be trying that professor next time.

TDMV 2 (Modern Dance) - Wilson : Two thumbs WAY up. THIS CLASS IS SO FUN. TERRY IS SO FUN. She's zany and nutters. But she's so awesome. It's my stress reliever of the week. I totally recommend her. Sammantaros or whoever is the other professor is ok, but I really recommend Terry Wilson.

math20a - baouendi: i have no opinion. he's kind of funny in that if someone says the right answer in class, he will ask the person's name and go, "okay, let's all give a hand to ____ for being so smart" and we all clap. his lectures are somewhat jumbled, but if you can follow what he's saying, it's all good.

chem6a - czworkwhatever: i wonder if he's easier than the other chem6a classes, because it sure seems like it is. gives up to 50 pts of ec like someone said for clicker questions. careful on the tests. his tests are 12 scantron questions, 11 of which are worth 9 points and the last is worth 1pt. therefore, if you miss one, it's already a 91%.

yeah... all my classes... i had no choice because it was the only classes open =( and then some of the teachers were new so they didnt have any ratings =/

My roommate worked SO hard on her paper, pulled an allnighter just to revise her paper, and she got a B+. We were actually both so proud of her. (Heh, I stayed up all night with her.)

My MCWP is next quarter, and I'm deathly afraid of it.

I was a strong writer in HS (6 on my IB HL English exam, meh), pulled an all-nighter on my paper about Global Warming, and still got a B flat. **** yeah--college is easy -___-

500 points in the class total. 4 tests, each worth 100 points. top 3 count. 200 points for final. it doesn't look like we'll get 50 points ec though. it'll probably be more in the range of 15pts.

thanks! Just for anyone whos curious, I don't think his test is any harder than my Chem professor-Sawrey. Her test is pretty easy, but the free response has the potential of being hard. You really have to think about it, so its understandable if people say its "tough". But personally, I see comparable tests from the two teachers.

I LOVE Takeda for 20B. He's excellent. As long as you're good with accents (they make the class fun), he's rather thorough and his tests are easy and comparable to the practice tests he provides.
