Teaching at boarding schools

Just checked out the "Career"/"Employment" section of a few schools' websites. The benefits sound pretty good, particularly if you have high school age children. Does anyone know what the salary ranges (or average and median) are for the teachers at HADES type of schools? (There's some stats on NAIS but that's the stats for a WIDE range of schools) Do the teachers pay for rent if they live in the apartments in dorms on campus?

No, housing is included if you are a dorm parent. Teachers who have been at the school a long time may get an apartment/house that is not IN a dorm, but they all have dorm duty at some point.

Salaries vary widely (thus the range on NAIS).

P.S.
There is no guarantee that your child will be accepted if you are a faculty member. I know of several faculty member children at “top” schools who did not get accepted, and many more staff children. They probably do have an advantage if everything else is equal, but it is not a “given.”

Do they cover some tuition if the faculty members’ kids attend another private school?

Yes (10 char) there is a generous allowance I hear. Depends on the school though. The bigger ones are more generous I would guess

Depends on the school. Some have an agreement with a few schools that they will provide tuition waivers as if the student were a child of their own faculty. However, most of them have a very limited number of those waivers, so you could easily get in to another school and not get a waiver.
The single gender schools especially usually have a more liberal agreement with each other (understandably).
