Many of my community college students already have 4-year degrees. In one of my sections last semester, half the class was made up of college graduates (one student was one year away from completing her Ph.D., another student was a public school teacher). In the fall, I had an attorney in one of my classes. I have had students with two master's degrees and immigrants students with foreign medical degrees. One year, I even had a former director of human resources of a large hospital. Many of these students are pursuing a nursing degree. Another favorite post-degree field is PA (physician's assistant). So, yes, I certainly concur with the article.
