<p>i was going through a very similar debate in my head. but ultimately i just had to side with penn. it has everything i want. i mean there is no other school that offers something like the PPE major. im applying ed and hoping for the best!</p>
<p>I hope you’re not under the impression that b/c columbia is in manhattan, you’re getting the “NYC experience”</p>
<p>Columbia is practically in Harlem. My friend there tells me there are certain streets around campus you absolutely must avoid at night unless you are looking to get mugged</p>
<p>^Have you been to either Penn or Columbia? In the battle of which is safer, I’m not at all sure Penn wins…</p>
<p>Both campuses are entirely safe if one uses some common sense.</p>

<p>I’ve been to Columbia and seen the area around it. It is beautiful & certainly I haven’t seen it at night but it seems totally fine. And the subway is right there so you can go down to NYC very, very easily.</p>
<p>I haven’t however been to uPenn. I have a feeling it is great as well. If I am rejected ED to Columbia & accepted by some miracle at uPenn I can’t wait to visit & see just how amazing it is. :)</p>
