Hey guys, so, I am in Canada, in a low income family. While my grade 9 marks were atrocious and my grade 10 was a mid 80s average, my average in Grade 11 was a 94. Keep in mind that in grade 9 and 10 I didnt do *, while in Grade 11, I put in 50% effort. I intend, however, to step it up a notch this year, and to easily obtain a 96 average at least. Entering Grade 12, I already possess 6 grade 12 credits, since half of my courses in Grade 11 were Grade 12 courses; I also managed to take courses during the summer, on Saturdays, etc. In two of my courses, I had marks of 99. Due to one physics course, that *ed me over, my grade 12 average is only 93(. However, as I will take more courses, and as only the top 6 account for the average in Canadian schools, I expect my mark to augment. I completed an Extended French program a year early, giving me the bilingual certificate, and I came first in my school for various competitions, physics and math. Not to say that my school is prestigious- it is a normal public school.I am enrolled in AP Math (Calculus), the only AP course my school offers, though I am studying individually for more AP subjects, such as French, which will be a joke after EF, history and statistics. In total, I expect to have at least 4 AP Exams completed. I plan to take the SAT, though the practice ones showed me that I am around 2200- 2300ish. My subject SATs will include the two maths and french without listening. In school, essays were always my strengths, and the lowest mark I have ever obtained for one was a 90+. Thus, I am not worried about the SAT essay. The subject SATs- similar story. I took several practice ones, gave myself even 5 minutes less than expected and got around 750 on average. (I got 800 on Math1 a couple of times, but don't know if it'll be like that every time)I have amassed 2500ish (yep, not 250) community service hours through various activities, with the minimum requirement for graduation here being 40. I recently registered my own business for teaching music, and I teach piano. I am enrolled in the Conservatory, about to obtain my diploma for piano; I am fluent in English, French, Ukrainian and Russian, with passive understanding of Italian, Polish and Belarusian. I also intend to work for a couple of weeks at a local Member of Parliament's office. I see my future in Politics; however, I want to take economics, law or business before. I mean, worst case scenario, I could take music for piano as an undergrad, as my major, and go into law school after. Please indicate my chances for any Ivy school, esp. Cornell, and which college OF the school, judging on my preferences, will be the easiest to get into. Thanks

BTW The averages are in percents, unewighted. Next year, I intend to go into model UN, and perhaps give a few piano recitals for some cause, or w.e.

Your test scores sound pretty damn good, but your poor attitude towards making an effort makes you sound like an incredibly arrogant person (maybe you’re not), and that is definitely not the type of person that the Ivies or any high-ranked school is looking for, no matter how smart you may be. HOWEVER, if you fix the attitude, you get that 96 average you were talking about, and you score as well on your testing as you say you will, I could definitely see you getting into any Ivy League. But remember that Ivy leagues are not guaranteed to ANYONE, unless you cured cancer or saved the life of the President.

good point
