Two years ago, I was anorexic for a while. (Don't worry, I'm fine now!) I've never opened up about this topic to ANYONE.

I was wondering if colleges would read my essay and decide to not accept me because they might think I still am sick/anorexic/or has potential of becoming anorexic again..

I don’t think they would decide not to accept you. Your mind saw something nobody else saw. It’s great you overcame that disastrous cycle!

However, I don’t think it’s their business of knowing your previous condition. If I were you, I would leave it out of your college application. Sure, it’s an interesting topic, but the essay isn’t the best place to draw attention to your past living with that deadly illness.

That’s just my take. I bet you have plenty of better options! I just don’t want to see you make the mistake and harm your chances.

Though, LemonCat had some advice for brazbloke who thought of writing about a similar topic: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-essays/1170734-potential-disastrous-topic.html
