Rejected ). Same timestamp

Rejected! You know how seniors all say the college admissions process matures them in a totally unprecedented way? I’m glad I had the chance to figure it all out early. To all those accepted, much congrats. To those rejected, no worries, the TASP rejects I know also happen to be some of the most accomplished and admirable people in my circle. My only regret is that I will never get to meet you guys, but c’est la vie, there are many humans out there!

@ByLaissezFaire I needed that. that was the hardest rejection I’ve had to face in a long time so thank you

Hey Everybody, I just wanted to ask if anyone knows how many people get placed on the waiting list? I just got put on it and I want to know roughly what my chances are of getting in…

Waitlisted. 1/2 darn. Does anyone ever not go who got in?

dogsarecool123
Last year at my site (UMich’13), I know for sure one guy got off from WL :)

I GOT ACCEPTED!!! MICHIGAN II HERE I COME!! :)

g

Waitlisted!

MOSTEC it is :P

Michigan I, but im still not sure if i am going.

Just a heads up for anyone who hasn’t gotten an email - check your junk mail!! Mine went to spam at first, and I know of someone else in my seminar who had the same problem.

Accepted! After weeks of thinking that I was rejected and trying to convince myself that TASP wasn’t for me, this is so unexpected.

Out of curiosity, what was your first choice and what number choice did you actually get?

Rejected. And really dissapointed. I think I need to rethink my life. And i thought I had college admissions figured out. Ahaha yeah right.

i got into michigan ii!! can’t wait to meet some of you this summer this will be my last post on this thread, so thank you all for being supportive through the application process!

@FizzySoda Michigan II was my first choice and I was admitted to Michigan II! I should discontinue my posts on here as well. See you all later and good luck with other applications (especially those tricky college ones)!

just heads up to the acceptees - as is probably stated in the acceptance email - refrain thyself from contacting other TASPies before the program begins to prevent the formation of any exclusive relationships(as lovely as you all are for sure
This is a genuine and very helpful advice from your TASP friend

@fffightingdaisy Thank you for the reminder! Hopefully we will still be anonymous. If anyone does discover the identity of another College Confidential poster, we should be certain to avoid any discussion of that knowledge. Quick question, though. I am obviously really excited to begin this program, but is anyone else a little bit nervous as well? I know that I am a little concerned!

For those of you who were not admitted to your first-choice seminar, don’t worry- I wasn’t either, and I ended up absolutely loving Times Square, especially when I saw the type of work the other seminar was doing. @kpalm1111
I was nervous too, and I had at one point considered not even going because I was terrified that the program was some sort of NYLF-esque scam. The day you get there you’ll forget all about that nervousness, because you’ll already be forging strong friendships by dinner (and this is coming from someone who doesn’t make friends easily at all). If anyone wants some thoughts or tips from someone who’s been to TASP before, feel free to PM me.

For those of you who are waitlisted, there should be at least one spot opened up at Cornell II. I’ll likely be giving up my spot (going to RSI instead). So don’t commit anywhere else before you hear back!

EDIT: Tagging some of the waitlisted @SineSquareSaw @TASPwant

(I couldn’t find any other waitlisters, so please tag them. People should wait to commit to another program before TASP lets people know about waitlist status)

@kpalm1111 yes, like @MedBound17 said, do not be nervous. TBH before I got there, all other TASPies had, in my mind, this saint-like image with ultra-brilliant aura surrounding them. But after you get there, you find out that it’s just a bunch of smart, funny, open-minded, motivated, incredibly kind and compassionate teenagers eager to learn things :D
