Telluride Association Sophomore Seminar (TASS) 2010.

apparently the other thread was not good enuf 4 obstinate. jk

lmao 10char

It was awful! Haha.

But yes, anyways, I am not a TASS applicant, but I attended TASP, which is the junior program. Both are affiliated with Telluride Association, and a few people at my TASP were TASS alum, so if you have any questions about the application process, essays, the six-week experience, etc. please feel free to discuss here and I’ll try my best to answer.

hmm no one on cc seems to be applying to tass??

The topic for TASS isn’t as appealing to everyone as the TASP one is.

@Obstinate…what did you write your essays about, and since you got in with whatever essays you wrote, what would you say the application reviewers are looking for in the essays? Complex thougt? Analysis of stuffy, sophisticated texts? Analysis of random/interesting books? Passion for learning? Risk taking in the essays themselves (ie interpreting the prompt in a manner that results in an essay seemingly unconnected to the topic, but actually related)?

Well, I didn’t apply to TASS sadly (I still wish I did), I suppose they look for who you are and what makes you tick. It’s all about how you sell it. It’s not like you have to be purely intellectual or experiential, just know what you’re talking about it and know how to talk about it I’d say.

I DID TASS!@#!!!
Last year no one, except two people, really talked about TASS.
Shouldn’t you guys have gotten your rejection/interview notification letters by now?

@Obsitnate…well actually i misread this thread title, i thought it said TASP. I am applying to TASP, im a junior.

i’m digging this out… there’s no way that the tasp thread reaches 100 pages and the tass one has only 9 replies!
really, did anyone get the interview notification? i’ve got mine thru mail but never got TA’s official email.
just wondering
