None of my essays were titled. Feel free to use them if you want, though.

Also, I’d email Ellen Baer directly to find out the exact submission deadline, just to be safe.

“Monday jan 25 at 11:59 pm?”

I have the same question.

^ Eh, if anyone has an answer for this please post it here. Only one essay done…yay for procrastination

Online applications are due Monday, Jan 25th by 11:59 pacific time.

Yeah, I like my personal interest essay, just because it’s so freaking weird.

Basically kbeaman, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly is about this French magazine editor, Jean-Dominique Bauby, who suffered a massive stroke at 47. As a result, he had locked-in syndrome, which means that his brain functioned perfectly, but his body was almost completely paralyzed. He could only communicate by blinking his left eye. Oh, and did I mention that this was an AUTOBIOGRAPHY? Yeah, he wrote it himself. I can’t wait until my French is good enough to read the original version.

I’m still deciding between this and Pygmalion, but I might go with this because

Any additional opinions would be much appreciated. Good luck to the unfortunate few who are taking SATs tomorrow!

^ I lol’ed at your status. It hailed outside out classroom at 2:32… everyone was getting up and looking through the window and the teacher was like, “What, you find precipitation more interesting than me? I’m going to go home this weekend and cut myself”

Wish me luck on the SAT tomorrow! I have a Key Club event right after it, but after that I’ll go home and do my last essay and edit my other ones. Good luck for the other SAT’ers tomorrow!

Yeah, Mother Nature’s kicking our butt right now…Last night the thunder was so loud it set off all the car alarms on our street.

Wait, something relevant…WIll it affect your chances of getting in if you’re on year-round? Cause I might have to miss 1-2 weeks of school if I get in. Emphasis on the IF.

I don’t see why… I don’t think they have time to look up all of the high schools, and you don’t have to mention when the last day of school is (for the BoA program you do).

Just finished my SAT a few hours ago! Going to nap for a while, then edit for a bit and get even more sleep. How’re everyone’s essays going?

Here’s to writing all the essays in the next three days! It’s kind of funny since i’m writing my personal problem essay about my procrastination.

Ah man, the dreary SoCal weather of the past week. Thankfully it’s over!

DONE with SAT Subject Test thank god. Brb, writing 4 essays in the next 7 hours so I can go to a friends house later.

^^^ Good luck!
(¡No duermes demasiado!)

could someone please give some examples of intellectual interests?
thanks!

Intellectual interests are anything you like that involves thinking! I looked on the back of my PSAT booklet and went down the list of college majors, writing down the ones I liked. Also, other non-academic things like hobbies or whatnot.

I finally found a topic for my last essay! (#2) Inspired by a movie I saw last night :D

^Avatar? lol.

My personal interest essay is about food allergies and their effects on the people who have them and those who surround them…and the general public’s understading of them. Definitely a personal interest seeing as I have food allergies to dairy products, nuts, and shellfish.

Should I put what movie it was? I don’t want the TASP people to connect my CC with my application, isn’t that against the rules or something?
Oh well, it wasn’t Avatar. It was Book of Eli. Haha!

yay my app is signed, sealed, delivered. now for that wait… ><;

Okay, I am now convinced of how awesome TASP is. Just by writing these essays, I’ve pretty much overhauled my religious beliefs.
