I thought I’d join this forum because last year I semi-lurked it and it seems that the acceptance rate is higher for CC posters xD

I’m written all my content-essays. I just have the book list and the seminar-choice paragraphs left to do but I’m worn out since I took the SAT today haha.

I’m scared to turn my essays in though! I at least want an interview, I’ve worked too hard just to get outright rejected But it’s okay! Good luck to everyone who’s still writing! :)

Oh, and is anyone else worried about the different aspects of yourself thing? I’ve written 3 that are very closely related I have different aspects that I can write about but I like the ones I’ve written!

Hey all, I emailed the FAQ email and the online application must be submitted by the end of Jan 25. YAY an extra day!

Can anyone explain to me what a critical analysis is? You make an argument about the book and support it right? So, like a persuasive essay? I’m not exactly sure what a critical analysis is. Thanks!

I still need to make a few modifications for my essays, then make a deep breath and send them… I took the SAT today too and it was so hot in the room that everybody sweated. My friend told me that she was almost frozen in the test center when she took the test so I put on layers of clothes… you know the consequence. Anyway, just an anecdote. I really want an interview, too; I am really excited about the intellectually-stimulating interview experience.

^^ Oh ****ttttttt. For real? That’s a critical analysis??? Mannnnn. I thought it was like, you choose a theme/topic that is seen in the text and you use the characters/plot/stuff in the text to support it… ahhhh. D:

Wait, shoot. You have the right idea, mulberrypie! At least, I’m doing what you’re doing. I’m just using that link to make sure I support the theme/topic sufficiently. Like, I’m doing the Golden Compass, and specifically his ideas about religion. Just using that link to make sure I support it properly…is it supporting an argument while also making sure the reader understands where you got that from/what the book is about?

@mullberry: I don’t think that’s what the critical analysis is supposed to be. You are supposed to “formulate an argument about the text and support it.”

I really wish I could read someone else’s actual essay. I don’t even know if I’m writing mine the way Telluride wants. We never do them in school.

I just started my application and boy is my literary analysis on a really bizarre book. I’m pretty sure only like 1,000 people have read it. Oh well.

dude guise, i just ate a mouthful of sugar cubes… gonna try to plow through this last essay and then edit them all. O_O:D WISH ME LUCK (not really) :DDD:D:D:D:DDddddd

On a side note what are you guys classifying these types of books as on your list? For school or outside?

And thanks, mulberry, although I’m still debating within myself whether or not I can afford to trust the responses on CC. It’s nothing personal, it’s just that if I missed the deadline it would be one of my greatest regrets of my entire life (and the greatest to date).
