Telluride Association Summer Program (TASP) 2010

I’m editing my problem essay, it’s it OK to go over 1500? I don’t want to cut any part of my essay!

^ I would try to respect the word limit, but as long as its not too far over 1500, I’d say you’re fine.

Finally done, just submitted.

And the essays were nothing compared to the stupid Honors/Awards and Volunteer Activity sections! They have a max of 462 CHARACTERS! I would highly advise anyone with lengthy resumes to do that part of the app at least by tonight, as it will cause undue stress.

SUBMITTED!

I thought about waiting till tomorrow to look it over, but no. I’M DONE.

done.

oy.

definitely due tomorrow night. It says on their website under FAQ.

I wanted to submit tonight, but I feel I should polish them up a little more tomorrow. I JUST finished a prose version of the literary analysis…

I don’t know how advisable it is to change books at this point though. Unless your REALLY familiar with what you’ll be writing.

I guess, by that definition, none of mine are intellectual except the literary analysis (which is kind of philosophical?), except not really. My problem essay is related to politics, and the rest of them are, well, personal things. I like them though, they were interesting to write.

I wish I was (or is it “were”? This is why I fail the writing section of the SAT) done, but I still have some last minute touch-ups I need to do tomorrow. Yay for last minute work!

^ yeah, me too. Except my last-minute work includes three essays. Fun.

I’m starting all of my essays except my first one tonight. ■■■.

I also did the majority of my essays in one day, so you’re not alone.

And… wow. For one of my essays my word count was only a little over half the maximum limit. Is that a bad sign?

^ no, not if you said what you needed to say. They’d rather see a really well written, concise essay than a mediocre long one.

Submitted! and happy with my application!

Best of luck to everyone! Hope we all get in!

People who are worrying about length, I’d gladly trade with you. My two non-personal essays, #1 and 2, are both over 1450 words, and my personal essays are each over 1200. I’m worried it’ll look like I made mine long just because I wanted to look good. Whatever, basically, you can worry about it either way, so there’s no point in fretting.

Desperation is the best form of inspiration, no?

After reading everyone’s posts, I’m getting a little worried.
XD

hahaha

Just write guys. 3 of mine were over 1450 and the other was over 1200. Dont worry about it, just make sure to express your point, the very tip, very clearly.

Still debating over whether to hit the submit button before the day ends…
Should I?!

bdw, one of my essay is exactly 1500 words.

Yeah. I realized in bed last night that I submitted my application 42 hours early.

Duuhh.

I finally submitted it!
Good Luck Everyone!
