panicky!!!

We have less than 5 hours left to complete the application. Yikes!

This would be a great time for the Hitchhiker’s Guide;
In other words, DON’T PANIC!

5 hours is plenty of time to patch up whatever needs to be patched up. I hope.

Actually, we have a bit less than 7 hours: 12 am PST = 3 am EST, and right now it’s 8:20 in the east (and the midwest, where I am – any other midwesterners here?) so we have about 6:40. Enjoy your newfound time!

Oops, I lied. Apparently we have something more like 7 hours. Yay! :)

How do we know that it’s PST? The FAQ said that applications were due “by the end of Monday, January 25”

Yeah, it said 12 PM PST somewhere on the application.

Finishing my last essay! My seminar preference “essay” is very straightforward and to the point. I know they do not expect something formal but i feel paranoid not adding anything particularly interesting. It turned out to be only 281 words, will probably be about 300 by the time i submit.

My #5 was 800 something words. It was long and they may mistake it for being stuck-up but whatever.

I just overhauled #2 (just have to proofread it now), and am about to overhaul my last essay (#1). I’m hoping to finish in the next 3.5 hours but who knows.

Still have 2 essays to write…

Thankfully, AP English has taught me to pound out essays in short time periods.

Anybody have an opinion on whether or not blogs/online publications can be considered “periodicals”? The ones I’m thinking of are fivethirtyeight.com, which is a politics blog, and Politico and The Hill, both of which are political news sources that come out with daily print editions in D.C., but I read online.

^ I’d say they qualify.

Just submitted. What a relief. Oh, and on Step 5, it says PST. Good luck to us all.

Is it bad that three of my essays begin with an anecdote before transitioning to the actual point…?

Application submitted… Now the wait begins. Good luck all!

Also, did anybody put the Cornell II seminar (Celts and Vikings) as their first or even second choice? It was my third choice, and I’d hate to get in but be assigned to my last choice.

No, but they want your essays should be as concise as possible.

Haha, both my friend and I put down the Cornell II Program as our first choice. I really hope we both get in, then we’d be able to spend the summer together! :D

Vince: I hope not. All of my essays except the analysis one had slightly lengthy narratives/anecdotes…

I put Cornell II as my first.

The Cornell II has to be the coolest program ever! I think it was the reason that I decided to actually apply.

Interesting! Good to know that there’s a nice range of interests here.

My longest one has only been 1,200 words…and that was the essay that didn’t use an anecdote, lol.

I also chose Cornell II as my first choice : )
