I applied for Temple last week and received my acceptance on the TU portal today (1220 CR M, 27 ACT, good ECs, good essay) but it didn’t say anything about nursing or honors. Is that normal? Does the major-specific info only come in the letter?
Also does anyone think I’ll get into the honors program with my scores?
Can I clarify this? Did you really get your decision in one week? My son has been waiting almost two months. Congratulations. As far as I’ve seen on here, sometimes those updates come later. There is sometimes an honors reception invite on the portal. I’m sure someone else can answer more accurately.
@desichick516 you can see the major you’re accepted in on the portal. Click apply or application (or something like that) click on the view application link (or something like that) down at the bottom it will say the major. Was there an invite to Experience Temple Day and Honors reception? If it did not say honors reception don’t worry yet! Mine didn’t either and I ended up getting University Honors and Fox Business Honors. However, to be honest, those scores may be on the lower side for honors. Congrats in your admission!
Son’s app was submitted 11/2 and complete a couple weeks later. At what point should we call and see if there is some sort of glitch? I’m asking because at one of his other schools there actually was an issue on their end and when I called, they realized and fixed it.
@CAMidwestMom - I would suggest that he email admissions directly. DD was in a similar boat - applied on November 1 and had heard nothing. She emailed at the end of last week and asked about any possibility of missing paperwork on her application and mentioned that she intended to plan a visit to the university, but was waiting for an admissions decision before finalizing those plans. They replied back in a timely manner (stating they’d received a ton of applications this year, please be patient… and assured dd that her application was complete and ready for review).
She was admitted through the portal within 24 hours, with the invitation to the honors/temple day/whatever it is called.
I think her app had just gotten stuck in someone’s “to-do” list and needed a nudge.
Has everyone received their scholarship information in the mail? I got my letter a few weeks ago but it had nothing about a scholarship. I have a 3.38 Weighted GPA(3.09 UW) and 1790 SAT(530 CR 630 M 630 W) which would qualify me for the lowest($3,000) scholarship.
@Philly97 the scholarship info is right in the admission letter if there is any. Keep in mind Temple uses their own formula for gpa @CAMidwestMom can you call them maybe?
Does the portal mention he is invited to an honors reception? That would be a give-away he got one of the top two scholarhships because those scholarship recipients are automatically invited to the honors program.
