Temple Class of 2020!

i think someone said they appealed because their kid was 10 SAT points below a scholarship and appeal was successful

@CAMidwestMom ugh, they should give bonus points for having an extra cool mom! I hope he decides to appeal.

@palm715 aww thanks! He’s kind of burnt out right now and he has two almost and full tuition scholarships at an east coast and west coast school so he probably won’t do it. :frowning:

Our son came up short on GPA and appealed. He was way over the presidential cutoff on the SAT and made NMSF. We’re hoping that plus demonstrated interest is enough for them to nudge him up to the Provost’s scholarship.

Just checked the portal for my daughter, and Temple FINALLY finished their review of her Temple Option essays - took almost two months! She submitted them Nov 30. And now apparently another 4-8 week wait for a decision :frowning:

HEY! I recently applied to Temple. I have a 32 superscored on the ACTs. I took it three times and got 30,30,31. Do they superscore when they give scholarships because my superscore makes me qualified for the President’s Scholars but without superscoring my highest score is a 31.

I’m pretty sure they do not, but you could still get the Provost.

not sure if they superscore the ACT, you could mention in your application you would like them to and would have a 32 if they choose to superscore it, let them know how much you would like to go to Temple too.

Chocohol - That was my daughter too. She applied Test Optional in October. They didn’t read her essay questions until the end of December. As of today…still no decision. We are at 6 weeks…

@jobocro well, that’s discouraging! It doesn’t seem fair that their wait doesn’t start until the essays are read, especially since it’s taking Temple so long to score them. I guess it’s a fairly new process, but I wish they would somehow adjust for the date everything was submitted.

So I applied in the beginning of January and found out recently that my application is going under a second review does this mean I probably won’t be admitted?
My gpa is 3.2 and sat 1600
I know people with worse scores who have been admitted so it wouldn’t make any sense to me if I didn’t get in. I might have applied too late.

it means you’re a maybe.

I applied around Janurary 10th and still haven’t heard back. I have relatively good stats… I have a 32 ACT and a 4.2 GPA with a load of extracurriculars. Should I be worried?

So I was sent an email recently saying my application was put on hold for a second review. I know this means that I’m not up to par with their standards but I thought a 3.2 gpa and 1150 sat scores would be ok. Will I get in?

I meant 1550 on sats sorry

not sure, i just saw another kid with i think a 3.6 and a higher SAT on hold too, what is your intended major?

They definitely do not superscore ACT for reasons I don’t really understand. Our son also superscored a 32. He did get a Provost scholarship

Lol waiting for a decision like —___----

I have application on hold when will they send out decisions. Temple is arguably my favorite schools and I really want to get in.

My daughter got her acceptance notice last night!! She applied with Temple option back in November, essays were read Jan 25, and then it took four weeks from then - long wait! Her GPA is 3.7W/3.3UW, she has some honors and AP courses and lots of ECs. She’s waiting to hear on a few other schools before making her decision. Does anyone know about how long before she’ll see if Temple is offering a financial scholarship?
