@Tedeward congrats! Your tuition will be only around $5700 a year with in-state turion! That’s awesome! I’m not sure why you were expecting $20,000, even last year’s instate presidential was the cost of full tuition, which is about $15600 for instate. No academic scholarships past or present exceed tuition. Room and board is not included in academic scholarships.
Pretty sure Temple doesn’t consider legacy because as a state school many many many people are legacy. Your stats are great! FYI they probably converted your GPA to a 4.0 scale which if I am correct is 3.9. Then they apply their own formula and use only core courses so maybe that brought you down a bit? IDK just guessing. Same thing happened to me last year, had the SAT for presidential but my GPA for core classes was 3.6 down from 3.8, so I got Provost. They stick very firmly to both guidelines. Also, they don’t superscore ACT, just SAT.
Yesterday, it said in the checklist to register for the Experience Temple Day, but today it says that I am invited to register for the Honors reception as well. Does that mean I am accepted into the Honors program?
Thanks for the replies. I know last year, automatic acceptance into Honors went hand in hand with Provost or Presidential Scholarship. Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case this year.
Hey, I have a 3.9 uw and a 4.2 weighted, 1480 on the new SAT and didn’t get into the honor’s college. Also a National Merit Commended Scholar. Any idea of what other criteria that they might look at?
Wait, on my portal is says I’m invited to the honors reception, does that mean I’m accepted to honors? It doesn’t say anything about honors on my decision letter…
Did everyone find out about their scholarship $$ on their acceptance letter? My son was accepted and accepted into the honors program and he received a package in the mail today with some brochures. I printed his acceptance letters from the portal. I called admissions because there is no information about a scholarship in his acceptance letters and the woman in admissions said that if there is nothing in his letter then he not getting one. I am a little shocked that he was accepted into honors yet got NO merit?? We were scheduled to go to the accepted student’s day and honors reception on Saturday but will not be if what she told me is right. The amount we would have to pay at Pitt is not much more than Temple and he would prefer to go there anyway. Was just wondering how everyone else found out about their merit $$.
