@heyiguessimhere I think you’re in if it says register for honors reception online. Not really sure if they send out the honors brochure to everyone to display or if it means anything

Update: A girl at my school (class rank 4 or 5 compared to my 9) with higher GPA and a 1450 on 1600 SAT didn’t get admitted to honors program and neither of us know why, lol
Temple Honors is super competitive and they look for more than just SAT/GPA. I know many of my peers that have turned down acceptances from Ivy league schools for the honors program.
@futuredoctor24 yeah but she has hundreds of volunteer hours, president of nhs, great recs + essays, will most likely get accepted to at least a few ivys
@ally22 I wish your friend of the best of luck getting into excellent programs because she has stats and her rejection from the honors program could have been a result of not being a good fit for the program. I have no clue, what I’m trying to get across is that people with excellent stats have been rejected in the past as well.

@bskro524 What was your highest non-superscored composite? I didn’t make honors with my SATS and got a 30 on ACT (didn’t take it in time to submit) and I’m trying for 32 in Feb
bskro524 Curious how you found out about full tuition scholarship. Did it come in the mail? Both of my sons were admitted to Honors College (I think–there were materials in the packet about honors college, but no actual letter). One applied in October and heard in November that he was accepted. One applied in November and just heard last week.

I know you asked bskro524 but I can answer your question. My son found out about the full tuition scholarship through the portal in the acceptance letter on there… It was available to him two days after he found he got in. Nothing arrived by mail except the acceptance package with the honors college brochure in it. Have your sons check the portal.

Thank you robincorn. I just texted them asking them to look. Their magnet school is rated as one of the top-ranked and most rigorous schools in the state and their GPAs show it. I’m hoping that the slightly lower GPAs don’t hurt their chances at full tuition scholarship.
Ok, heard from one of them. He got the Presidential Scholarship with full tuition plus $4000 stipend. I’m glad I asked here or I would have never known. We have a bit of an “absent-minded professor” vibe going on over here!

Double Legacy
I’m a bit disappointed with my scholarship amount tbh. I have double legacy, but even without that I was expecting to get at least $20k/year. I know they gave out too much money last year but I was still optimistic. Its just a little frustrating knowing that if I was a year older I would have been able to go for free. To be fair though, my ECs are average.
