So we are over four months into the school year, and there are four months until the AP exam for Physics which would mean that we should be halfway through the material. However, we are only 5 chapters in to a 35 chapter AP Physics 1 book. My teacher quite honestly does not teach he tells us to read and do practice problems all period and we spend weeks just on one chapter. Is there anything I can do to salvage this and still get a 4 or 5 on the AP exam, or should I just give up and not take it at all?
HEY! That’s our teacher too! I think teachers only teach BAD at physics is because physics is a combination of calculus and applicable science/calculus, and their students are normally not as good in those subjects. (Lets just say, they’re in a lower income area). For me, I bought a Princeton review book 2018 (and I haven’t even opened it up yet…), and it has all of the topics in physics they cover. I am expecting to not know all of the subjects, but I rather give it a try. I’m still going to take the test, even if I fail…
Ha ha, are you at my son’s school? You’ve perfectly described his experience as a junior last year in AP Physics 1. He supplemented by studying from the Barrons AP guide and ended up with a 4 on the AP exam.
