Terrible SAT Writing Score!!

Hi. I wanted to know what the best way to get 750+ on writing is?

Write a good essay. Practice the writing style questions. Learn the grammar rules they will be asking about- they really only test you on a couple.

Actually, if you look at the scoring tables with practice tests, the essay doesn't count for that much. You really need to concentrate on getting the multiple choice right. If you get all the multiple choice right, and get, say, an 8 on your essay, you still get 700+ or even 750+) for your writing score. So don't worry about the essay and just concentrate on the multiple choice.

writing is a weird one. I jumped from 630 to 610 to 770. I agree, work on the grammar.

^you give me great hope/

hahah, thanks ^_^;; I'm not quite sure how I did it myself. I did the same thing everytime. Cram with the same books the night before the test for like 5 hours :D Here is how my writing subscores compare:

March: 10 WRONG, 1 OMITTED, 49 TOTAL = 36 RAW + 9 essay = 630
Oct: 9 WRONG, 2 OMITTED, 48 TOTAL = 35 RAW + 9 essay = 610
Dec: 2 WRONG, 0 OMITTED, 49 TOTAL = 47 RAW + 10 essay = 770

do u guys have an idea how trainable the writing section is?

3 wrong, 11 essay = 750

I agree--DO THE GRAMMAR! And practice writing essays, as well as anticipating common questions.

I got...I think...one wrong on the mult choice and a 10 on the essay, and scored 790.
