Hello,

I recently took the ACT in December. I received a 30 composite score:
31 English
31 Math
32 Reading
27 Science

I took one practice test before the official test, and scored a 33, so I was expecting higher than a 30 for the official test. I attribute the 30 to a distracting work environment during the test.

I have met with an ACT tutor for two 45 minute sessions since the test. I just took the fourth practice test from The Real ACT Prep Guide, and did very well.

I scored a 34 composite score:
35 English (1 question wrong)
33 Math (5 questions wrong)
36 Reading (0 questions wrong)
30 Science (6 questions wrong)

Has anyone noticed this fourth practice test being very easy? I am not sure if I have actually improved from practice or if it is just an easier test.

Also, does anyone have any tips for raising my math score? Math comes very easy to me, but I seem to either make a couple careless mistakes or run out of time when I take the ACT.

Also, I seem to have problems with science. I'm not sure why.
