Test Rituals

My D is a junior--the year of tests. I am wondering what if anything the BSs do to ensure what the kids get a good night sleep and have breakfast that day (something they don't always do at school). Perhaps some provide snacks to take to the tests or bagels in the dorm that morning? Or is it all up to the kids? I don't mean to coddle from afar, but I know that if my D were home, I'd support these good habits for test days at least. It's also in the schools best interest as well to see them well rested and fed, so I am wondering if anyone has seen the school take a role in this regard or is it just like every other morning?

At my kids’ school, the juniors themselves enforced quiet in the dorm the night before SATs. The school offered a full hot breakfast early in the morning before the test. However, of course, it was up to the students themselves to actually get themselves to the dining hall.

yea its just like any other day. breakfast may open a little earlier in the dining hall but other than that its a normal night/mornign

If at all possible, schedule your testing when your kids are home. Mine has some very good scores obtained when she was home on break and tested here. Otherwise I assume she runs off to the test with no breakfast since she is always late, the bus leaves early, and d-hall just isn’t the same as the kitchen at home. (Actually we usually head to McDonalds before a test to get that mix of fat/carbs/protein that really gets the brain going before testing.)
