If I didn't bother using score choice and just sent in all my tests which includes 4 SAT II subject tests, how will Princeton decide which to look at? They only require 2, so will sending more be a bad thing? Will they choose themselves which 2 to consider or do they just look at all 4 and consider them holistically?

edit: and this goes for all schools really, not just Princeton

They will concentrate on the two and consider the other two. If you scored 500s on the two you additionally sent, it would definitely be a red flag. If you scored low 700s, they wouldn’t care.

Basically, as pointed out on other threads: SAT Subject Test ranges:
770-800 helps a little.
730-760 is average.
690-720 hurts a little.
Anything below that will hurt and send up red flags. SAT subject tests aren’t as important as the SAT reasoning test, and neither is anywhere near important as your transcript.

sorry if I sound like a broken record or really confused, but you mentioned that they will “concentrate on the two”. Which two do they concentrate on? The 2 best scores?

Definitely the two best scores. They want to see you at your best.
