Testing Scores -- When and Which to Send

I’ve taken the ACT twice, the SAT once, three AP tests, and I’ve two SAT Subject Tests scheduled for later this month.

What scores do I send to colleges?

Total Reading English Math Science Essay Score

ACT#1: 33 34 34 30 34 8
ACT#2: 32 34 31 35 28 10

SAT: 2130: 740’s in CR/Math and 650 in Writing

AP Tests: 5 in Eng. Writing and Comp.; 4 in Psych.; 3 in Chem.

I’d like to report/send both my ACT scores, but would any colleges frown on me doing so? I realize that very few colleges superscore ACT’s, however I’d like to still report/send both ACT tests.

Since I’m sending ACT scores, should I bother sending my SAT scores? They weren’t comparably that good but I’ve heard that sometimes colleges prefer SAT scores …?

Do I send AP scores?

And when do I send any of these scores? I applied to UC’s/a CSU/a number of Jan 1st. Common App Schools.

Thank you very much for reading this and any help you’re able to provide, not finding any of the answers I need online.

Not sure if this is the correct subforum to post this in. Sorry if it isn’t.

I’m not sure about UC’s, but from what I know about northeastern colleges,

  1. Send ACT/SAT scores as soon as possible. Don't pay for 'Rush delivery'. If it were me, I'd send all three - but that may be expensive. If I had to choose, I'd pick ACT 1, then SAT, then ACT 2 (I think writing and science scores are less important than math and composite).
  2. AP may be self reported for now, and scores sent after admission.

But check the website again, and maybe there will also be someone else commenting on this who knows more about the California system.

Good luck and stay classy

^^ I agree with everything above (but I would send at least both ACT scores for sure +/- SAT depending on finances)

Most people I know just sent whichever was higher and that was it. So, I would send your ACTs

For the UC’s test score deadline was end of December. If you indicated on your application that you would be sitting for any December tests, then your application would be held until scores are recieved. For Cal States, most will accept scores until Jan 15. Send the ACT scores and AP scores are sent end of Senior year to the college you have enrolled.

I just sent my UC test scores today and to Berkeley. It said it was going by mail. Would it help if I sent my test scores to a different UC campus that takes them electronically? What is going to happen to my application?

@pmast25: I would email admissions at UCB and ask if they will review your application with your self reported test scores or if they will hold your application until the official scores arrive. Each UC will review applications differently, so it is better to check directly with the source.
