I have the big word vocabulary list containing 2200+, but don't know if it is worth memorizing all of it. Any else think that their words are right on target and if I should memorize them all????????????????????????????????????

memorize the ones you see on the SAT.
the word amalgam was in June, May and January this year for example.

if you don't wanna do that then just randoml pick pages and memorize them. it works for me

Memorize latin roots, greek roots, prefixes, and such.

ye gumballs rite.. also try to memorize a high frequency list..

Gumball do those REALLY help? I've always disregarded them.

you still owe me my AP tests :[

Yeah study the roots and prefixes.

The unfamiliar words on the SAT can be deciphered by prefixes and roots.

People go so crazy with these definitions . . . .

You're going to use 7-10 of them on the test. It's not worth memorizing thousands for three sentence completion sectoins. There're better ways, like actually reading SAT type texts that contain words. You'd be surprised at how often you saw words you came across. Memorizing prefixes and roots is a better idea, anyway.

the list in the baaron study guide is pretty helpful...they have stars beside the most frequent ones

Hey I saw that Kaplan sells story books with difficult vocab in them..I'm going to try one out.

yes 10 char..

i agree with murasaki. i would say taht memorizing 2200+ words isn't too necessary. i didnt even look at a vocab list and i still did pretty well on the crit reading, because there's like 8 sentence completion questions, and most of those can be done without having to know the actual words.
