Testmasters raise 300 points guaranteed?

is the above statement true? I mean right now I have around a 1900 so if I take the testmasters classroom course, I'll improve to a 2200??

Im confused and if its like that, than why doesnt everyone just take it and score really high?

and also if it is 300 points guaranteed, Im taking it for sure!!!

well they didnt do it with me..i didnt go up and then they refused to give me the course again because they said they were not offering it again in my area...so i suppose you can take the chance

ummm....didn't happen for me in a prep course. only like 100pt improvement from lowest course score, and like 60pt from highest for me.

I got my 300 points after taking testmasters. (400 or 410 points up from before to be exact...can't remember first score exactly). It (testmasters) is a good class. If you are going to take a prep class, take testmasters.

Only problem is that it isnt offered in most areas. Also, it is cheaper than PR by 300$. So it is basically a lot better.

"Im confused and if its like that, than why doesnt everyone just take it and score really high?"

Along with the location problem, some people can't afford it.
I didn't take any prep course, just studied independently and increased 200-300 pts... with help of CC and some of my friends. It just depends on how you learn well and how much time you have on your hands.

i didnt get even close to a 300 point guarantee (60) from the online course and their "famous" vocab list in Oct 2007. ??!! I'm retaking it again in Nov.

The higher you already are, the harder it is to increase your score. I know nothing about testmasters, but I supposed it's been designed for students who are currently under 2100 if they guarantee a 300 pt increase, and that by itself seems a bit strange...

PR has the same policy, I think. If you don't raise your score 300 points, you get to take their class again for free. I'm not sure of how much of an advantage it would be to take 2 SAT classes in a row by the same company though.

I'd personally recommend Kaplan. First time i took the diagnostic, i scored 1120. When I took it in October, I scored 1380. That's a 260 point raise.

in any case get the < $20 Testmasters Solution book to the Blue
Book it is worth its weight in platinum.... :)

The best way to study is alone with a reasonably good collection of practice tests. Classes are overrated.

what if you get a 2110 on the diagnostic? automatic free course?

btw my friend improved from a 1710 on her diagnostic to a 1940 on her first test to a 2240 on her last one.

and my other friend went from 2200 to 2380 with no help

and my other friend went from 1900 to 2400 also with no help (the 1900 was ninth grade..)

but no don't take the course
read books! like arwen said they're worth their weight in platinum. or gold. or w/e

Use Xiggi method. Order QAS if it won't be your last time taking the test.

it may be guaranteed, but it isn't worth it - you're essentially paying them to make you do your own homework - kinda like paying your mom to tell you to do your schoolwork.

I agree the the above post and arwen - books are much more worth it. head to a library and study at your own pace.

Xiggi method is like brain talk. If you have some common sense, spend your time going over practice tests..

i think it's a bit stupid to depend on a course. i mean in the end they couldn't really give a shiiit if you manage 300 points or not...it's your SAT score not theirs...they will always have some genius in their class that manages to get 300 points and they can back it up from him, but in the end its up to you whether you wanna increase that much or not...you're doing the SAT test..not them.
