Testmasters Course

hey guys what do you think about the Test masters course will they actually raise your score by 300 point like guranteed

did anyone take them please give some feedback??????????????????????????????????????

i wanna know this too.. also i want to know why their website doesnt give you locations...

<a href="http://student.testmasters.com/newreg/catalog/courses.asp?course=SAT&state=CA&lstState=CA%5B/url%5D">http://student.testmasters.com/newreg/catalog/courses.asp?course=SAT&state=CA&lstState=CA</a></p>

thanks for the link, but I still really want to know if this class is worth it now. I'm seriously considering forming a group of ten people and making an open course in my area:

<a href="http://www.testmasters.com/sat/customcrs.asp?course=72&city=SOT&name=Other%20Cities%5B/url%5D">http://www.testmasters.com/sat/customcrs.asp?course=72&city=SOT&name=Other%20Cities</a></p>

The course looks very very good from what it says on the site, but I really would like an outside opinion before actually doing it.

Thanks for your help.

There's no way they can "guarentee" that your score will increase by 300 points. In my opinion, most SAT prep courses are a waste of time and money. I would recommend just studying on your own and at most, just buying the CB blue book. Then again, everyone's situation is unique and I haven't even heard of or researched testmasters.

i wonder why they don`t offer courses in california. competition?

seriously.. noone here took the course?!?!

seriously.. noone here took the course?!?!

I think that there is some trade name legal issue in California. Some other company has registered the name “Testmasters” in CA.

Well, my S is at his first Testmasters class at this very moment. We can report back after a while.

thx a lot, i rly appreciate it

anymore info??????????

My SAT score went up 220 points (new test -- 90 on Verbal, 110 on math, and 20 on writing) from the course. I did not do all their assigned "homework", but attended all the classes. The thing with the 300 pt guarantee is this: You have to attend (or make up) all classes and do the required homework (practice tests from the blue book). If you then don't increase your scores 300 pts, you can redo the course for free. They also have special tutoring sessions for one-on-one help and boatloads of extra practice tests available. If you want a coupon # for $20 off you can PM me.

the thing is that, if i do the course, then i have to find nine other people to do it with me, which i know is not gonna be easy at all. also, if it turns out to be bad, i wasted 9 of my buddies' money too. I really want to know if this course is worth it. It looks much better than PR or Kaplan, which is why i am looking at it.

raindrop: how was the teacher? Do the teachers have a defined course schedule, or do they decide what to teach? do u think your score would have improved more if u did the hw? was the homework impossibly long? do u recommend the course to me? what was your final score on the SAT's after taking the course? How did u find out about testmasters? Did u ever take PR or Kaplan? How do they compare to testmasters?

Thanks for even answering any of these questions...

They have different teachers for each subject, so you get the same only twice. I found about testmasters because my parents read a newspaper article about it (3/4 2400 students on the new SAT in Houston took Testmasters). The homework was 3 untimed practiced tests. My score went from 2030 to 2250.

Why do you need 9 people?

<a href="http://www.testmasters.com/sat/customcrs.asp?course=72&city=SOT&name=Other%20Cities%5B/url%5D">http://www.testmasters.com/sat/customcrs.asp?course=72&city=SOT&name=Other%20Cities</a></p>

If there's no course already in my area, i can make one if i have a group of ten people

Do you think that its worth it?

that's a tough question. Is the nearest course really far away? Do you have lots of friends that want to take a class (or have parents that want them to)?

where do you live rragas????

check your PM

Testmasters was effective for me and my cousin. He took it first and improved around 320 or 330 points. He told me about it, and I took it last month in November. I went from a 2010 on the October 2005 SAT to a 2380 on the December 2005 SAT.

I am not necessarily endorsing Testmasters or any other company. You always get out what you put in. Some people can do it on their own, but not me. I took the June 2005 SAT and got a 1980 on it, studied all summer, and then took it in October only to improve 30 points! I needed a professional course like Testmasters to help me get over that 2300 mark.
