i am a non native english speaker,do i have to send SAT 1 score to MIT? it is stated in their website that if you are a non native english speaker,TOEFL and 2 SAT subject tests are recommended to take.i just want to make sure on that if i dont send my SAT 1 score, would that harm my application? i mailed them but i did not get any specific answer.

It’s plain that you need to send either the SAT1 or ACT plus SAT2s and TOEFL
<a href=“Tests & scores | MIT Admissions”>http://mitadmissions.org/apply/freshman/tests

Did you send ACT?

no i didn’t send anything yet.but in the website it is stated that " For non-native English speakers:

You have two options: 1) take the tests required for native English speakers , or 2) you may take the TOEFL and two SAT Subject Tests, one in math (level 1 or 2) and one in science (physics, chemistry, or biology e/m).

If you have been using English for less than 5 years or do not speak English at home and school, we strongly suggest that you take the TOEFL. We do not accept IELTS in place of TOEFL."

according to option 2,shouldn’t i send only my TOEFL and SAT 2 scores but not the SAT1 as it is not recommended???

You’re correct. As a non-native speaker, you can choose to send either 1) SAT I/ACT and SAT II or 2) TOEFL and SAT II.

There’s no penalty for choosing the TOEFL and SAT II option.

If you would like to submit both your TOEFL and SAT I scores, MIT will only use the better score to evaluate you.

thank you very much…
