Texas A&M - International affairs

Hello,

I am looking to get into a grad school program that focuses in international affairs. I hear texas AM is good. But I was hoping for some experiences that you may have on the school and/or program. Basically, i want to get into the intelligence / counter terror field. Is AM a good school overall? Whenever i hear about IR schools, its always George Washington U, John Hopkins, Harvard, etc. it is rare to hear about the Bush school. I wonder if because it is not "where the action is" out east? I also hear that the CIA has a presence on the campus in terms of recruiting.

A&M will have plenty of connections to intelligence through both political and military fields. You’ll probably also find a lot related to petroleum. Take a look at the faculty and their backgrounds, check out their research and who is funding it, that will give you some idea of the connections. It may not be the same as John Hopkins and Georgetown but it won’t be a dead end and I’ll bet you’ll have plenty of opportunities.
