TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY COLLEGE STATION SCHOOL OF GEOSCIENCES

Dear All,

Im an international student applying for Spring 2015 intake as a transfer for the department of geology and geophysics. Had a GPA of 3.54 from a competitive prep school in my country. Previously took a gap year to support myself as i came from a single family. What is my chances for this particular department with work experiences, good essays and a couple of solid co-curricular work/voluntary work in my CV ? The min GPA cut off point of course is 3.0, but i know surely many people score way beyond that to be considered for entrance.

Im really scared i could not made it to A&M, as i heard Geo sciences school is also one of the competitive department... What other schools do you guys suggest for Geoscience/Planetary Science? One with strong links to the industry ie. Oil and Gas, environmental, mining etc etc....
