Although I haven't been fully admitted to TAMU, I have been offered the waitlist/blinn TEAM/Galveston/and PSA

I accepted the waitlist and blinn team offer like so many others but I want to know the probability of getting in either as a full time student or blinn. I'd be happy with either.

My Stats:

GPA- 3.5/4.0
class rank- 201/626 or something (may have gone up in rank)
SATs- 1440 combined (pretty bad but I'm a bad timed-test-taker)

Half Korean/Half Caucasian
I Speak Korean as a second language

Freshman year I took all pre-ap classes
Soph. yr. I took a few regulars and pre-ap classes
junior yr. I took one AP class (history)
senior year I have allll AP classes

Been in color guard (Flags) since sophomore year (Won 1st place at state)
Made co-captain junior year (won 3rd place at state)
and then Captain senior year (won 1st place at state recently)
I practice 8 hours a week (not including spending all day at competitions on the weekends)

I also work at Hollister Co. about 10 hours a week is all I can squeeze in

I'm also a part of a program called the "principal's leadership team" at our school

I'm concerned because my grades aren't up-to-par with many others who are much more qualified than I am and even they have been waitlisted.
I would just like to know the chances of me getting into either TAMU or Blinn TEAM

I know that the number of people offered those options have declined dramatically because more top 10% students are filling in the spots but chances still seem slim...

anyone want to give me some insight?

I dont have much insight but one of my friends got waitlisted/blinn team and she is two people out of the top ten percent. She has talked to an admissions counselor and the counselor told her that she needs to find out what number she is on the list to know how good of a chance she has, but I’m not sure how you find that out unless you call the office of admissions or something… not sure though. Dont think I was of much help but thats all I know about it.

hm well I heard they don’t rank the waitlist but that may be just a rumor…?
Idk but thank you, I’ll try and call today.

I contacted admissions & they said they don’t rank waitlist. Everyone is just re-evaluated in May. So we’re pretty much all stuck in the blue until they make their decision. I’m top 16% in my class & made a 1680 on my SAT ( yeah it sucked). I’m not even sure if i’ll get in.& I’m pretty worried about Blinn Team because it’ll be impossible to find on campus housing by June. So I’m keeping my fingers crossed for full admission. Good luck!

Do they also arrange the waitlist by which majors each person picks?
To even out all of the departments, they have to pick a certain amount of people for each type of major etc…don’t they?

I’m just wondering because I know engineering is extremely difficult to get into, because there are so many competitors. IDK, any insight on that?

It is my understanding, by looking at the FAQ and speaking to the ad. counselor, that they admit you first to the university and then your major. I don’t know if that is accurate, because like you say there are some majors that are more competitive. Has anyone else heard this?

Yes, I’ve heard the same thing. My brother and I (he is on the waitlist right now) went to talk to an admissions counselor and they told him that he’d be accepted off the waitlist first to A&M, then to the major… if his major was full, then they’d put him in general studies.

I changed my major to general studies on my AIS before may 1st just in case
