I am currently a sophomore attending community college in NY, I am a political science major and I am debating between going to American University or Texas A&M. I want to become a lobbyist and was originally thinking of going to Texas than to American for my masters but I am unsure if I should go to American right away. I am a strong republican conservative and love the atmosphere of Texas but my choice is based on what school will help me out better to get a very good job. Any suggestions? I am only looking for suggestions between those two schools. Texas A&M is a better school and offers a lot of opportunities but American's location is key for internships.

I think that both schools are on par academically overall, but TAMU has the edge for engineering (by far) and AU has the edge for political science (by far). So you could attend TAMU to finish undergrad then go to AU for your master’s degree or go to AU for your BA or BS, get internships, and start right away or if that doesn’t work attend AU for your Master’s. You’d probably love being at TAMU and you’d get political leverage in TX but if your goal is DC I’d go to DC. In my opinion, it’s very subjective.
However, this point may be moot: have you been admitted to both? Are both affordable?
