Texas Spirits/Sweethearts/Darlins

I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about Texas Sweethearts and Texas Spirits or even Texas Darlins!

I was curious about the recruitment process, if its competitive to get in, and what the experience is like?

Id love to know any and all info anyone has!
Thanks and Hookem!

Hi there! I’m in Texas Spirits, and I absolutely love it! We recruit in the Fall and Spring semesters, and this year, around 300 girls tried out in the Fall and around 200 in the Spring, with 25-26 girls taken for each new member class.

As for the experience, I personally really like the fact that Spirits has been around since the 1940s, and that we follow a lot of the same traditions that were started 70 years ago! We do service projects, hold mixers and date events, and have general Spirits events that foster bonding between members. If you’d like more information, feel free to message me or to look us up on Facebook!

These groups are quite competitive, but the people who make it into them really love them.

(If you are interested in joining a fun club that does community service, something you do not have to compete to get into, check out Alpha Phi Omega co-ed service fraternity. They are the ones with the giant flag of Texas dropping from the Tower or out on the football field. They have social events as well as service projects.)

My son plans to check out Alpha Phi Omega. :)

Hey!
I’m looking into applying this spring for Texas Spirits and I was wondering how important academics are in the recruitment process. I know that you have to have a minimum of a 2.5 GPA, but when they are reviewing your application are they more interested in the creativity aspect?

Thanks!
