Pros and cons of both, and what would you choose?
Texas A&M is more nationally recognized, getting a degree from there will make the job process easier.
Hard to compare these two if you are referring to Texas A&M - College Station.
Texas A&M University - College Station is a nationally ranked (#68) university while Texas State University is considered just a regional university (ranked #50 of the western region). A more appropriate comparison (apples to apples) would be Texas State University vs. one of the other schools in the Texas A&M system such as Prairie View A&M or Texas A&M Corpus Christie.
To answer the question though, I would say that in every category of Pro or Con, Texas A&M University - College Station is superior by a healthy margin (which is why it does not make sense to compare).
The only way you could get remotely close to comparing is if you are in the Honors College at Texas State. A&M is seriously on a different level & Tier altogether. Texas State is not even ranked in the Top 200 where A&M is up there.
