Waco isn't very close to Houston. It is about an hour and a half from Dallas and a little less than that from Austin. Waco is awful.

WACO: While net Waco population is greater than College Station population, Baylor is in such an outskirt that the area seems to have very few people and very few activities surrounding it. Partly due to the fact that Baylor is not a public university, the city does not revolve around the campus. Waco is close to Houston, so thats a plus. It is also pretty strong in church-going population, by what I saw...so thats a PRO/CON depending on you.

I live in Waco, and I can tell you that Baylor pretty much is the town, or at least a really big part of it. Baylor students find things to do, but Waco is definitely no Austin, Houston, San Antonio, or Dallas. And yeah, it's definitely about three-and-a-half to four hours from Houston. We rarely go, and we have family there, haha. Dallas is feasible, but moreso Austin.

And while some Baylor students go to chapel or church, I definitely wouldn't say most do. Surprisingly, a lot of the students at Baylor are there not for the religious atmosphere but just...because. Haha.
