Texas vs UIUC

sell me texas over UIUC.
i'm an international, want to do chem eng.

got into UT as chem major
rejected-appealed-got in to UIUC as undeclared studies

ani one???

As someone posted in another thread, if you need to be “sold” on UT, maybe it’s not the school for you.

Austin is a city, although a smallish one. Champaign-Urbana is a glorified corn field. Where would you rather live?

You’re not even guaranteed to study your major or even any type of engineering at UIUC. Seems way too risky when UT is offering you what you want already.

bacdgk, CFO got into UT as a chem major, not chem eng.

I graduated from UT with ChemE and can tell you that the top energy companies (Exxon, Shell, BP) recruit out of both UT and UI so either is a good choice. Transferring into ChemE is not easy at UT, don’t know about UI but suspect it is the same. So you’re real decision is do you want a city school or a rural school.

Thanks alot guys
I was always leaning towards UT since my college apps, UIUC didn’t pop into my head till they accepted my appeal-- it was my second choice wen I did my apps anyways

So yea!

I guess it should be easier to transfer from chem to chem engineering rather than undeclared to chem eng…

Thanks
