how do we know what text books we need. I want them this early because I want to buy them used to save money and the used ones NYU sells is a rip off

they won't put the lists up until about 2 weeks or so before school starts.

You could look at the same course number from a semester past to see what they used. But you are at risk of buying the wrong book by doing that.

I did manage to buy 2 books the first year for my son thru half.com But some of the books are not available at the online sites (and I looked)

Actually, you can look at this: https://www.bookstores.nyu.edu/WKSCRIPTS3/wkf?FACULTY.REQUEST.GEN

thanks alot!

It had stuff listed for 2 of my son's classes, but nothing for the other 2. and I'm what is there might not be complete. But that is definitely more than the bookstore link had.

you know what I find odd. that the same class would use different texts. For example. Intermediate French, they are different from last year to this year. It's the same name, author and publisher, but a different ISBN number. It almost makes it impossible to get a 'deal' when schools do that. And we're talking about a $200+ text/audio/workbook.

same problem here
i am getting confused
i think the different isbn number is due to the fact nyu sells stuff in packages(book, cd, solution manual, etc.)
either way it makes my life a pain in the as

I have never used the audio in any book I've ever had to buy for NYU and a used workbook is totally fine ...

don't waste your money. buy a used one.

I think the Japanese class I'm interested in uses the same textbook (and ALL the supplements) I used at a community college in Texas two years ago... I'm fresh in luck!

Oh and thanks for the links.
