Textbook Reserve

Is anybody reserving their textbooks? Is it worth reserving all your books? If so, did you guys check the "required books only" box or the "required and recommended books" box? i don't know which one to check...

personally, i'm just buying all my textbooks straight from half.com since Sd's bookstore prices are quite steep.

yeah I agree, totally amazon.

I reserved mine's, but will return all of them except for the ones I couldn't get online.

anybody in MMW?! look at those required books?!! dang it...
^
IGOTIN! so you could reserve your textbooks, pay the money, and return the books that you don't need and keep the ones you need, and get your money back?

Yeah, I emailed them and here's what they said to me:

"Textbooks are completely returnable/exchangeable up to two weeks from
the day classes start. Please be sure to keep your receipt. Also,
during TRS pick up on move in weekend, you can do any kind of a return
or exchange right there.
Thanks,
Leslie "

idyll,

I'm in MMW and I KNOW HUH!! also though, do you know which verison of the Illiad they want us to get??

luviet,
i have NO CLUE!!! hahaha...i don't know if i should just do the textbook thing JUST because of the MMW class and then return all the other books...hahaha

as others have already noted, the ucsd bookstore's pricing is not as competitive as half or amazon. if you already bought your first quarter books from the bookstore, learn from this mistake and buy next quarter's books from half. sometimes you'll need to buy from the bookstore though.

in my 3 years so far at ucsd i have never bought a recommended book with the exception of a study manual. if i were you i would take a look at it first, evaluate the recommended reading, and then purchase it if it's worth it. definately don't buy it now. take a look during welcome week before classes start.
